SHIFT, GROW & PROFIT
Let me help you take control of your company.
“When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.”
~ Alexander Den Heijer
Here is my three-part philosophy when it comes to a successful, profitable business.
SHIFT
If you keep doing what you’ve been doing, you’ll get the same results. Now, if you’re happy where you are, great. However, I suspect if you’re read this far down the page, you want something more. So something has to shift. That’s where I come in. You get my 20+ years of expertise in business, and part of that expertise is to almost immediately see what needs to change.
GROW
Every business, whether purpose-driven or profit-driven, should have as its main function to be the best it can be. That means growth. That might mean higher gross revenues, more clients, best in class, bigger bottom line. I’ll help you see where the biggest opportunity for growth is in your business.
PROFIT
And here’s where we get to the bottom line… YOUR bottom line needs to be in the black (not the red) and far away from said red! This means concentrating on the numbers as the means to profit.
You started your businesses because you are passionate about the thing your business does. You probably didn’t go into business because you love running a business.
You probably rock at the Operations part of your business – the delivering of your product and service. THAT’s where the juice is for you.
The other parts… maybe not so much.
You know one area that gets neglected the most? Finances.
It’s one of the three pillars of a successful, profitable business (Operations, Sales/Marketing, and Finance/Administration). Of those three pillars, Finance is ignored, usually because the business owner is afraid of it.
No judgement here, by the way. Numbers and finances can be scary, if you don’t know what you’re doing. And that’s the thing… when we’re scared of something, we usually like to pretend it doesn’t exist, like monsters under the bed.
The problem is that finances and numbers DO exist, but they don’t have to be monsters.
That’s where I come in…. I’ll slay that Finance Monster for you, and show you how to become friends with your numbers.
You’ll find that actually focusing on your finances will help you grow the business of your dreams.
I specialize in areas most people hide from, and I ask the hard questions that help bring that monster out from under the bed and into light, where you might find he’s not that scary at all.
- Are all your service/product lines profitable? (I’ll dig in to find out.)
- Where are you bleeding money? (I know how to look at data and numbers and translate them into what’s really going on.)
- Do you know how much it costs you to acquire a new customer? (I know where to look to uncover this important number.)
- Do you have reserves to cover 2x payroll? (And I’ll explain to you why this is important.)
- As you grow, do you hire employees or bring on subcontractors? (I can map out the advantages and disadvantages of both for YOUR business.)
Here are a few things I’ve done for my clients over the 20+ years I’ve been working and consulting with business owners like you.
- In four years, took a client who was experiencing IRS problems and relying on title loans to cover payroll every month to being debt-free with $2 million in revenue and $1 million cash reserves in the bank.
- Helped a client who had no systems in his speaking business standardize his processes as well as upleveled his presentations and product sales.
- Guided a client with a new business to become the first and largest in its industry in the region through creating standard operating procedures, setting up accounting and taxes, and helping them become compliant.
- In three months, helped a client become current in its grants’ compliancy (which was sorely overdue) as well as helping them receive funding.
- Consulted with another client to get all his finances in order, resulting in a significant increase in his personal wealth, allowing him to spend half of every month out of the country.
